The Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC) Winegrowers Association is putting their winemakers in the spotlight during their new “Meet the Makers” event, being held on February 10 & 11, 2018.

Participants can purchase a Discovery Pass which will allow them to visit up to nine EPIC wineries throughout the course of the weekend. At each stop, they will enjoy a carefully selected food and wine pairing served by the winemakers themselves, allowing for a unique level of interaction not regularly experienced on every day visits to EPIC Wine Country.

Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, supports the new event. “The EPIC “Meet the Makers” event is a unique way to connect consumers with the winemakers behind the bottle. Winemaking is both a science and an art, and there is no better way to understand that connection than to learn from the winemakers themselves. We applaud EPIC for presenting this opportunity to their customers and providing more exposure for the region’s wine industry and culinary experiences.”

EPIC Wineries is a non-profit organization consisting of 12 winegrowers in the Lake Erie North Shore appellation. With the unique climate and exceptional soil, grape growers in this region provide some of the world’s finest vinifera and French hybrid wine grapes and continually produce award-winning, world-class wines. EPIC holds events throughout the year with the aim of gaining consumer awareness and appreciation of their work and products, all the while providing memorable experiences that draw locals and tourists alike.

“If you consider yourself an oenophile, are interested in what goes on behind the scenes, or have questions of a winemaker, this is the event for you to attend,” comments Steve Mitchell, president of EPIC Wineries. “This time of the year provides the perfect opportunity where winemakers can interact with our customers, and being away from the summer crowds helps deliver that personal experience.”

The Discovery Pass is only $20 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.  The event runs from 12pm – 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.  For more information and a link to ticket sales visit
